چکیده
This paper presents experimental data and its interpretation regarding the forming of YAG spinel green-bodies, intended for transparent parts fabrication, by pressure slip casting (PSC) method. Conditions an optimal operation are established based on modeling filtration kinetics. It emerges that method is able to provide highly sinterable green ensuring cakes porosity exhibits low average size narrow distribution. Results were compared with other popular approaches like (SC) cold isostatic pressing (CIP). PSC was found as superior, approaches, far obtainment high sinterability green- bodies concerned. In case YAG, it shown even allows replacement traditional long vacuum firings a two stage densification in which initial air-firing completed hot step.

Unique mechanical properties of nanostructured transparent MgAl2O4 ceramics
Nanoindentation tests were performed on nanostructured transparent magnesium aluminate (MgAl2O4) ceramics to determine their mechanical properties. These tests were carried out on samples at different applied loads ranging from 300 to 9,000 μN. The elastic recovery for nanostructured transparent MgAl2O4 ceramics at different applied loads was derived from the force-depth data. The results revea...

Glass-ceramics grown from a glass of the composition Sr2TiSi2.45O8.9 (STS 45) are analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). Oriented nucleation with the c-axes preferably perpendicular to the surface is detected. A very strong 001-texture is observed after only 10 μm of growth into the bulk, making this the first system in which an orientation p...
متن کاملThe effect of slip casting parameters on the ultrafine microstructure and density of pore-free YAG ceramic obtained by vacuum sintering
In this study, the effect of slip casting parameters on the ultrafine microstructure and the density of pore-free YAG ceramic was evaluated. A stable, high concentrated aqueous YAG slurry using Dolapix-CE64 as a dispersant was prepared. The effect of dispersant concentration as well as the solid load on the stability and rheological behavior of the slurry was also studied. The optimal dispersan...

Semi-Solid Casting (SSM) is a new process that could produce globular structures with mechanical properties. The cooling slope method (CLM) is a one of this process that was employed to produce the A360 feedstock. In this method, The dendritic primary phase in the conventionally cast A356 alloy has transformed into a non-dendritic one. In this paper, The molten alloy with the temperature (PT) o...
